“The Christmas Messenger”, a pageant, was presented by the Senior choir of the Mt. Carmel Baptist church, assisted by the junior choir and the ladies’ chorus, Sunday evening. The pageant was given in three impressive scenes accompanied by sweet and soft music. Between scenes the audience sang Christmas carols. Each participant acted <

Christmas Party By Conversational Study Club Among Outstanding Holiday Events Among the outstanding holiday events was the Christmas party given by the Conversational Study club at the home of the president, Mrs. Ethel Lambert, in West Fourteenth street, Tuesday evening, December 22. One of the prettiest holiday dances of the season was the annual formal given by the Enright clqb as the Walker Casino, last Saturday evening. Tommy Parker and his music makers with Betty Fields as soloist stationed in the center of the dance hall were surrounded by beautiful silver sprayed cedars making a very attractive center for the hall. Other Christmas decorations were placed here and there throughout the ballroom. The stage was a mass of Christ-^ ^ mas greens, pot flowers and miniature on trees which*were placed names of the officers and members of the club forming a semi-circle, each having an individual tree. At the north end -of the hall was placed the club insignia and words, “Merry Christmas”. Delicious punch was served throughout the evening.
