Snappy Music And Genial Hosts Make Hit With Dancers

An atmosphere of thrilling excitement reigned last Thursday evening when the Metcalfe Sport club gave its first annual formal dance • at the Walker Casino. The motif of Valentine day was used in the decorations along with the club’s colors of green and gold. In the center of the hall a heart-shaped net filled with baloons was placed, from which green and gold streamers ran to the four corners of the hall. The club’s name in green and gold lettering was extended over the orchestra. The toettickling strains of Frank Reynolds orchestra combined with the geniality of the hosts, made the dance quite enjoyable. The club girls were attractively gowned in the latest formal creations. Miss Alberta Phillips, vice president, wore a blue lace with rhine Stone accessories; Miss C’allie Scrivner wore white and red with red accessories; Miss Joan Thompson wore white with rhinestone accessories; Miss Lena House wore white taffata with black accessories: Miss Virginia Brown wore black and white with white accessories; Miss Louise Fields, secretary, wore a dainty pink taffata with rhinestone accessories. Club members distinguished themselves Uy wearing their club’s colors. ; Other officers and members are: Robert Harper, president; Milton Proctor, Asst, secretary; Lorse Moten, treasurer; George Rogers, ser-geant-at-arms; Joe DeBow, Harry Foster;out-of-town guests were: Mr. Evan Waddell. Miss Bruetta Tyler, Mr. Andrew Dorden, Miss Anna Belle Lewis, and Mr. John Talley, all of Kokomb.

Maxie Miller: 1 am a girl 18. And I’m in l ive. As you would know, from my age, I haven’t finished my education. My people are able to send me to school and they want me to go and finish. But I love this boy. He says he is willing to wait, but there are other girls around here who are on a hot trail after him. I’m afraid I might lose him, and I just must have him because he is the only boy I can ever love. I hate to disappoint my parents, but I think I’d die If this boy gets away from me. What must I do?—Millie. Millie: You would be the biggest fool this side of the ocean if you’d give up your education, at this time. Your letter is indeed laughable where you say you can never love another boy. Why child, perhaps you will love a dozen others before you die! You are young. You hardly know your own mind.
