That there is need for a return to Bible principles and practices in the world today was a definite conclusion stressed during the twenty-fourth annual convention of the Christ temple, Pall Creek Boulevard. The convention was ended Sunday after a ten-day session under the guidance of Elder Robert P. Tobin, pastor of the church. In attendance at the convention j "ere 560 delegates, b'otii white and colored from all parts of the United States. While the convention was purely local it attracted na-tion-wide attention because of the extensive Bible discussions conducted by Elder Tobin and Elder S. N. Hancock, pastor of the Bethelmen Temple. Detroit. The Bible classes were held for threo-hour periods each afternoon. Over 600 were enrolled. Thirty Baptized Thirty persons were baptized during the 10 baptism services. Baptised persons include two from Detroit and Marion, hid. Elder Tobin stated this week that he believed that the heavy attendance at the sessions of the convention which were better attended than they have been for a number of years was a spiritual manifestation of many people becoming interested in religious en-
deavors.
On the two Sunday nights of the convention it was necessary to turn people a Way from the meetings. On these nights the auditorium was filled by seven o’clock.
Convention Preachers
Among those who preached during the convention sessions are; Elder Herbert Davis, Leavenworth. Kan., Elder David Schultz, Louis-
B. Rowe, white, Mish-
ers were made for those who attended. One of the highlights of the convehtion were the addresses of Mrs. J. R. Ledbetter, a missionary from Africa and Elder Beddinger, missionary from Transvaal, South
Africa.
Elder Tobin, 2246 North Capitol avenue, has been pastor of Christ Temple for three years. He is general secretary of the Pentecostal Assemblies of the. World. He is recognized as an authority on the
Bible.
