ROOSEVELT PILES UP BIG LEAD EARLY IN GAME HERE TO DROP LOCALS; STINESVILLE WINS Attacks Outscores National Champs in Second Half of Game; Stinesville Comes From Behind To Win
Captain Robert White held the speedy Byrd, captain of the Roosevelt high basketball team to six points whie he helped himself to nine points in an interesting game last Friday evening, though Attucks lost to Gary finally 31-18. It was the first time that Attucks has met a national championship team, and the “Tigers” made a sensational comeback after being held at the half 20-5. They outseored Gary in the second half, but the upstate five had piled up a
lead that was hopeless to overcome.
Coach John D. Smith stated that, — _ Attucks played them harder than Stinesville while King starred for

Stinesville Tops Locals It seemed as though Attucks could not get going in time while they were paying Stinesville a visit down there last Saturday night and the "Quarrymen” came to life in the final seconds to drop in two goals and win a fast furious game trom the "Capitol City” team 2017. Stinesville led at the half 11-8. The game was very fast from start to finish; the visitors began a very flashy passing attack in the second half to take the lead only to have it wiped out in the ast fifty seconds. BEWARE OF THE LIONS
(By Kennath Bundrant, correspondant) They're Fieidhouse bound, once they set their mind on doing that one thing, it’s no sccner said than done. In other words, all Rushville is behind their plucky pack of “Lions” who are taking everything in their neck-of-the-wo^ds, so to speak. The dark secret of the Rushville confidence in Jtheir team is no other than William Cruse, often -ailed “Bill” who is the towering pivot cce on the Rurhvilie high school team; he hes been the target of all the opposition that Rushville has met this season. “Bill' 's a senior now, and will graduate at the jnd cf this semester with his eye on some college, aotsib'y Kentucky State at Frankfort. Aside from basketball, “Big” Bill was a center and tackle on the football team, and weight man on . he track team. He has great possibilities for developemsnt in collegiate circles and his loss will be CRUSE keenly felt at Rushville.
