Local Baptists Observe Fifty-Third Anniversar
The Fifty-third Anniversary tke South Calvary Baptist chill and the Sixth Anniversary of I pastor, the Rev. J. T. Highbaul were celebrated on last Sundaj Services were conducted in the morning by Rev. Highbaugh, in the afternoon by Rev. S. P. Kennedy and choir, at night a musical program by the East End chorus, led by Mr. Wheeler Highbaugh. A program was held during the present week participated in by the pastors of several churches and their choirs. The list included^ — on Monday evening, Rev. I. M. Hendon and choir; on Tuesday, Rev. J. I. Saunders and choir; on Wednesday, Rev. J. H. Dotson and choir and on Thursray, Rev. F. F. Young and choir. On Friday evening a Musical program was - rendered. Those who took part included:—Saxaphone duet, Herbert Bryant and A. Tipton; Instrumental, Miss Hortens* Smith; Reading, Mrs. Petty; Solo, Mr. Smith; Cornet solo, J. Watts i and solo, Mrs. Blossie Roberts.A banquet was served afterwards. The program for Sunday Sept. 1st, includes;—Services conducted by Rev Highbaugh, Rev. G. L. Lillard and choir, the South Calvary choir and Cosmopolitan quartette.
