How Votes Are Secured

It takes votes to win, and the^ are se-

cured in the following ways: First, by clipping the Free Vote Coupons appearing in each issne of this newspaper. There is no limit to the number of these coupons you may secure. OeL your friends to saving them for you. They all count. Begin gathering them NOW while they are good for 100 votes each. After next week these coupons will be reduced to 50 votes; the following week to 10 votes, and after that they will be discontinued entirely. The only restriction placed on voting these coupons is that they must be cast before the expiration date appearing thereon. — The other, and much faster way to accumulate votes in this campaign, is by securing new and renewal subscriptions t o this tiewspaper (the right is reserved to include advertising). On each order secured a certain number of votes are issued, the number varying according to the amount paid and during which "period” same are received at the campaign department. See schedule of votes.

Under the aggressive leadership of George W. Harris, recently appointed chairman of the speakers bureau of the east for the Hoover campaign and editor of tlm New York News, a definite movement took shape when the Republicans of Harlem gathered in a convention all their own to declare their intentions. Resolutions were adopted, demanding a colored congressman, a colored assembyman, a colored senator and general representation throughout the district. When this matter was brought up in the meeting of the district leaders, the white leader, Robert S, Conklin, tactitly acceded to the wish of the colored section of the district.
