Mr. and Mrs. Charles Hearn and son of La wrenceville, 111., were Sunday guests of relatives. * • Collins Henry and Henry Howard are reported quite ill. * Funeral services for Joseph Rice, who died last Friday at his home, 713 S. 14th St., were held Sunday at two o'clock at Calvary Baptist church. Surviving are a widow, .Mrs. Anna Rice; a mother. Mary Rice; two brothers and four sisters. • Funeral services for Mrs. Mary S. Simpson, were held Monday afternoon at Secortd Baptist church. Mrs. Simpson, who had been ill for several days, went to Bowling Green, Ky., for short stay with relatives returning with her brother, Huston Cox, Saturday evening, March 17. The following Monday, she suffered a stroke, grew worse until death, which occurred Friday night at her residence, 1522 Popular St. She is survived by a husband, William Simpson, two brothers, Huston of Bowding Green, and Richard of this city. Mrs. .las. S. A. Mitchem is a cousin. * Mr. and Mrs. Austin, uncle and aunt, and other relatives. Burial in Highland Lawn..
