In Club Circles There will be Sacred Concert on Tuesday evening Sept. 2nd at Ray’s hall, 2430 Northwestern avenue. Tne Friends club will resume their meetings for this season, Wednesday with Mrs. Ida Stiggars. The Progressive Whist club met Wednesday and S. Sides won 1st prize; Jas. McDaniels, 2nd and Edw. Ward, 3rd. The next meeting will be with Jas. Me Daniels, tU§ Fayette street Mrs. Mary White has returned to Louisville, Ky , after a visit with.Mrs, Willa Williams, 7(»3 Fayette street. '• The Golden Leaf club af St. Paul Baptist church, Haughville will meet with Mrs. Rosa Epps, 414 E. Mich, street. The Mite society of Second Baptist church under the leadership of Mrs. R. J Prince will meet eyery Monday evening at 8 oclock at the church The cake contestants will launch out Sunday and it is hoped they will be favorably received by the general public. The Elizabeth Carter Council will meet with Mrs. Holmes, 335 W. 11th street Tuerdav afternoon. The Golden Leaf club will meet Thursday afternoon at 3 oclock with Mrs. Mary Arnold 514 W. 13th street. All members please be present. There will be a musical concert at St. Mark’s Temple, 1717 Shelby street Tuesday evening Sept. 9th. Tne Columbia Social and Benefit society will meet Wednesday Sept. 3rd at the residence of Miss Stella Whitely 1309 Massachusetts avente. Ail the members are requested to be prerent. The Merry Widow’s lawn fete will be a very fine affair at Olivet Baptist church Tuesday evening Sept, 2nd. After a six week’s vacation the woman’s club will ho'd a meeting with Mrs. Alice Grysell 433 W. 14th street, Monday afternoon Sept. 1st. All members are requested to be present. Good music, latest dances at the Tango Dancing class every Monday night at K. P. hall. Come and enjoy yourself. The name of Rev. C, C. Me Coll, superintendent of Missions, who gate a talk on “The Bible Library” at the Metoka social, was unintentionally omitted in last week’s paper. The Marion County Sunday School Union will bold its Jubilee meeting at the First Baptist church, North Indianapolis, Rev, F. F. Young, pastor, tomorrow afternoon at 2:30 oclock. The program will be inspiring and helpful to all Sunday School workers. The Marion County Missionary Union held its monthly meeting with the Circle of Second Baptist church Sunday. A large number of Circles were present. The new officers were elected. The Junior Blue Ribbon club will give a Musicale at Second Baptist church Wednesday evening Sept 3rd. All are cordially invited. There will be an Autumn Musicale given at the residence of Mrs. Nettie Johnson by the Mississippi club of Simpson Chapel Thursday evening Sept 4th. Mrs. George Norris of Louisville is in the city for an indefinite stay. She is visiting her sister Mrs. Jacob Holland in Alvoid street. Rev. T. Franklin will preach Sunday afternoon at 3 oclock at Antioch church, corner of Missouri and 13th streets, for the benefit of the Young Ladies Congress. All are welcome. Each paator and Congress please attend. There was a debate at Campbell’s Chapel, Northwestern avenue near 24th street Thursday night, subject, Resolved that the Negro should be colonized and excluded from the United States into the Phillipine Islands. The ■ Neighborhood Literary met with Mrs. Board 40t; Smith street. A good program was rendered. Mrs Eliza Wisdom sang a solo and Mrs. Idella Tolbert the evening hymn. The next meeting will be with Mrs. Turner, 339 Smith street. The topic for Monday night will be found In John 3rd chapter, 6th verse; prayer, Mrs. Malone; Bible reading by the members.

Mr. Johnson is a graduate of Columbia University of New York City. Mr. and Mrs. Johnson have just returned from a wed ding trip in the East, and will be at home to their friends after Sept. 1st at 906 Fayette street.

Dainty refreshments were served and a large and handsome collection collection of presents received. Mr. and Mrs. Crogger left after the marriage for a trio to Niagara Falls,
