Matinee from 2 to 7. Colonial'ball 8 to 1;30. H. Jones, R. Kuykendall, E. Williams and V. Bell. The movement started last year for the organization of a batallion of Colored militia in the Indiana National Guard, is making cammendable progress and encouragment. When the matter was presented to Gov. Hanly it met his hearty approval and was only stopped because of the lack of funds. With the convening of the leg islature and the incoming Gov. Marshall, the idea was again taken up and last Friday a bill was introduced in the House by Rep. Harry Bassett, of Marion county to appropiate the sum of $5,000. for a Colored Batallion. It is hoped by the Colored citizens that the measure will pass Messrs. C. F. P. Temple and E. S. Gaillard are laboring for the succes's of the bill.
Star Concert Company.
The Star Concert Co., composed of Mrs Bertha Clark-Lewis, Misses Kath ryne Francis, Lydia and Eva Clark, Messrs. Richard Arden Chavers, Amos A. Thompson and Harry W. Jackson will give an entertainment Thursday night at Odd Fellows Hall (white) in E. Washington st. The entertainment will be under the auspices of Me Kinley club (white.) The company will fill several engagements during the season. Mr. Jackson is manager.
