According to witnesses the shooting was the result of an attempt by Reece to collect a bill, alleged to have been due by Stump's daughter. Mrs. Gladys Campbeffl. for a phoirrograph bought

May 28—The Christian church at Jamestown has become heir, by the will of Oliver M. Martin, to an estate, the value of which is unknown, except that a certificate of deposit for $4,000 in the bank of Hillsboro is a part of it. Mr. Martin died recently at Hillsboro. It is known that he formerly had large holdings of real estate in the state of Missouri, and an investigation is to be made to ascertain the extent of the

church’s heritage.

Oliver M. Martin left Jamestown more than thirty years ago. and his whereabouts was unknown to Boone county relatives until two years ago. when he suddenly appeared at the home of his nephew. Charles F. Martin, of Jamestown. He said that after his disappearance from ms home in the eighties he went to Missouri. where he married a wealthy widow with one child, a daughter. His wife and the stepdaughter died and he became the sole heir to the property.
