PROBE OF m FARM CHAROESIS UNDER WAY
COMMITTEE NAMED BY GOVERNOR HEARS M’NULTY.
CHARITIES BOARD MEETS
Governor Goodrich has intrusted to * committee of his own selection the investigation of the charges made hr Charles O. McNulty that Indiana State Farm prisoners are poorly fed and mistreated. The board of state charities committee on penal institutions also Is making an investigation. On the Governor's committee are Judge J. P. Hughes, of the Putnam circuit court; Dr. Charles P. Emerson, dean of the Indiana Univerfitjr school of medietas, and Judge Atonso Blair, of the Shelby circuit court . It examined McNulty, whom the Governor summoned here yesterday from his home in Big Rapids. Mich. McNulty is said to have reiterated before the committee his former charges made by letter to Dr. John N. Hurty, secretary of the state board
of health.
The board of state charities was in quarterly session today. Because this fs the first meeting since its Marion County Jail supervision was so severely criticised in federal court, it was sxpected .that the criticism would receive some consideration before the close of the session.
