NEW YORK. April 17—The 23meter yacht Shamrock, which Sir Thomas Lipton will use in the trial races against his Shamrock IV preliminary to the America's cup' races, sailed from Southampton April S*for New York. Colonel Duncan Neill, aid of the British sportsman, announced upon his arrival here today on the steamship Adriatic. The small yacht under jury rig probably will take a month to make the journey by way of

the Axores, he said.

"I expect Sir Thomas will be here in about four weeks and preparations for the tuning up will soon be on in

earnest.” he added.

The makt. boom. gaff, smaller spars and rigging for the "trial horse” and a gaff for the big racer were brought

Big Tear la Indiana.

Up-state associations are getting busy on the season s programs, and it looks promising for a big year in Indiana, from a racing standpoint. A plant which is being put into shape for a meeting this fall is at Decatur, where Fred Reppert, the famous live stock auctioneer, is now secretary of the Northern Indiana Fair Association. and where they are making a strong play for the harness horses. An excellent racing card has been arranged for the fair, wnich is scheduled for August 10 to 13. Inclusive. Reppert Is having the counsel and assistance of John T. Stinson, formerly Secretary of the Missouri state fair, as weil as other exhibitions of note. Reppert and Stinson, backed by a loyal home contingent and the most progressive of the country

The testimony of Dort owners confirms and substantiates what we have often said to you. It proves that the Dort really does require but the slightest service attention. It shows too, that the mileage of the Dort per gallon of gas, quart of oil, and set of tires, is perceptibly higher than is common. The Dort is built to give you long service, smooth performance, and thrifty operation—and it does.
