Starting out on a route on the outskirts of Indianapolis over roads varying from good to bad at 9 a. m., Wednesday, February 25, and running continuously, day and night, until 9 a. m., Wednesday, March 3, a Stock Overland 4 made a new record for reliability, stamina and performance. The run was made in severe weather, the temperature ranging from 3 to 50 degrees above zero. The car was a stock car, being chosen at random from a large shipment made recently to us. The plucky drivers were chosen from our service department. This endurance run proves beyond all question that the Overland 4 is the staunchest and most economical light car of its class. The mileage performance and other records are attested by Monroe E. Noblet, secretary of Hoosier Motor Club; R. H. Scroggin, managing editor of “Hoosier Motorist,” and Howdy Wilcox, winner 500-mile race—1919.

TRIPLEX SPRINGS PROTECT POWER PLA

M' . . M , “
The Overland Triplex (three-point suspension) Springs absorbed every bump and jolt in the gruelling grind over the Indiana roads chosen for the 168-hour test of the Overland 4. This new and radical departure in spring construction proved so perfect that from start to finish the engine and the power transmission system performed sturdily and unfalteringly.
Because the Overland Triplex Springs removed every stress and strain, the motor was able to deliver its full power in unceasing flow to the driving gears. The wonderful mileage record, the low consumption of gas and oil and the superb consistency of performance were possible because the Overland’s power plant was cradled upon the most improved system of spring suspension to be found in any light car.
