Evangeffat Take* Herman From the Twenty-third Psalm. In the noon sermon at Tomlinson hall today, Mel Trotter, tvangelist, drew some practical lessons from the Twenty-third Psalm. Mr. Trotter said If a man is sure that the Lord is his shepherd he must have no concern about his business affairs but feel that everything will turn out for the best. The speaker illustrated by telling about the little girl in Sunday school who had heard some American slang and one Sunday said to her teacher. "The Lord is my shepherd—I should worry,” "I shall not want, I must not want. I dare not want or I reflect on my shepherd.” Mr. Trotter said. He said the average business man is too busy to heed the words of the Psalmist but the great Shepherd »* able to bring peace and satisfaction of mind. “What seems to us at times to be an awful calamity Is simply the Lord caring for his sheep,” tho speaker said. Evening services will be resumed at Tomlinson hall at 7;20 tonight Hoad I**ae Petition* Approves. A Correction. An editor's life on a country newspaper is Just one thing after another. Recently at Frankfort the police found an old offender who had imbibed too- freely of forbidden liquid and It was necessary to use forceful methods in taking him to Jail. A reporter on one of the newspapers, in writing the incident, started something like this: “Throe haymakers were necessary to land in Jail here last night, etc.” The next morning a special committee from tbe Haymakers’ Lodge called on the editor and protested. ”We want you to make a correction,” the spokesman said. ”Our wives read the paper today and claim we all were drunk at our meeting last night.” Indianapolis \o Mean City. Little Fannie, of Suffield, Conn., was visiting with her mamma in In di&napolis.
