Dlrt Cause of Trouble. In many cars water and dirt in the fuel system cause almost endless trouble, which may very likely be attributed to the engine proper. Dirt will clog the minute crevices in the carburetor, causing numerous peculiar symptoms of trouble to appear. Many cars have no provision, except a metal strainer to the tank, for preventing the entrance of dirt Into the fuel system. It is suggested that the owners of cars so equipped fit a trap in the gasoline t«. All the larger manufacturers of carburetors have devices of this kind.

ENGINE MUST BE ALIGNED. Any Strain on Crankcase Likely to End Seriously. The engine must always be property aligned with the other units in the chassis, and rest squarely on the rackets intended to carry' it. No unnecessary strain should be put upon any part of the crankcase when the engine is bolted down. All bolts should be kept tight, as any looseness to these bolts permits a hammering and pounding of the engine upon its brackets, which in time crystallites the metal and breakage results.

Always on the Job

* •

Not only the ability to be on the job, but the ability to stay on the job, is the test that has demonstrated Signal serviceability. The most striking thing about Signal performance is its continuity. There are so many less interruptions because of need for a little attention, or minor adjustments, or what not. In fact, such delays are really novel because of their posi-

tive rarity.

Signal trucks are designed and built to serve steadily. They suffer not at all from the unexpected severities and rough usage that would put ordinary trucks in the repair shop.

V

Because their builders foresaw those very conditions and provided for them by building trucks that withstand something more than usual conditions. In short, they make trucks that deliver exactly the sort of service that truck owners want. But if accident should compel a temporary halt, then it is worth while knowing that the Signal owner commands the sort of attention in our Service Station that assures a minimum of delay, a reasonable charge, and a job properly done.

We believe that's the kind you ap-

preciate.

Franklin Touring Car Those who in the past, while paying for motoring freedom, have secured instead a number of limitations and restrictions, will find in the Franklin Car what they have long sought. Rough roads do not slow down the Franklin Car to a ten-mile gait, sharp turns do not slacken its speed greatly. Neither its safety nor its ability to maintain ground-covering rates of travel is dependent on driving skill and endurance solely. For the Franklin Car is not handicapped by heavy weight and rigidity, but op the contrary embodies light weight and flexibility. . ' ; '"A ■ ■ And this motoring freedom is not a matter of seasons with the Franklin Car. Winter or summer, it is equally dependable. Because of Direct Air Cooling (no water to boil or freeze), it is unaffected by heat or cold. No less remarkable than its road performance, is its economy. Iri every section of the country the Franklin Car consistently gives its owners: 20 miles to the gallon of gasoline 12y500 miles to the set of tires 50i\ slower yearly depreciation If you are judging your motoring future by the disappointments of the past, let us restore your lost optimism by a demonstration. We will prefer that you choose the roads. Diddel Brothers Franklin Motor Car Co.
