The Highland Oolf and Country Club was organized last night at the Columbia Club.and along with Its birth came that of the Highland Realty Company. Both bodies will be incorporated wlthirprihe next ten days. The members of the Highland Oolf and Country Club will be the members of the old Highland Oolf Club. The membership will be limited to 300. as is the case in the Oolf Club, and club Stock will sell at 1500 par. Highland's oommltlee on the new cii/b, site and clubhouM, compooed of C. L. THE HURRICANE. FOREST HILLS, N. Y-. August 29.—Gerald L. Patterson, a nephew of Madam Melba and a captain in the artillery for three years, is known'aa the Hurricane. He always attracts attention on a lawn tennis court. He is well set up, five feet eleven inches tall, and he weighs 166 pounds. He has the face of a good fighter, ruddy in appearance from outdoor life. He began playing the game when he was nineteen years old. His > father has been his instructor and coach.

ATLANTIC CITY. N. J„ August 29 — Frank Heiftittx. of Wilkes-Barre. Pa., a boxer, died tn the city hospital here today as the result of Injuries received in a boxing oout last night. His opponent. K. O. Circus, of Pittsburg, was held without bail. Sam Lewis, the referee, was held in H.OtlO ball. Circus landed a fight short hook which eaiflfcht Heifling square on the jaw in the eighth round and felled him. Referee Lewis counted ten and the spectators thought Heifling had merely been

knocked out.

Heifling was carried to his corner by the seconds, who threw water on him. He had a spasm and again lapsed into unconsciousness. Physicians worked on Heifling for an hour but failed to revive him. He was then taken to the city hospital. Dr. Weinberg, who was at the eia7>. stated that Heifling had collapsed from exhaustion. Heifling was leading the first

six rounds.
