Permit* Total $1,047,612—Month Probably a Record Maker. With a total valuation of $1,047,612 for the week ending Saturday, a record week in building operations in the city of Indianapolis was probably established, Carl Hays, chief clerk of the city building inspection department, re-

ports.

The total for the week was far above the total for an average month, Mr. Hays said. In 1914, the biggest month ran $1,547,787, and in 1915 the largest month ran $1,255,792. These were years when conditions were not regarded unusually abnormal. To date the total valuation of new buildng projects for which building permits have been issued this month is S2,ttL3,872. Mr. Hays believes the month will round out the record total in the history of the department. County Agent Resigns. [Special to The Indianapolis News] COLUMBIA CITY. Ihd.. August 25—B. L.
