Light Offerings.

NEW YORK. Auguq$ lA^A dlsposlUon to cover or buy for « reaction after yesterdays break was Incrosasd in tho cotton market by the firmer cables of today and the better opening tone of the stock market. First prices were steady at an advance of 22 to 90 point* and active months sold 27 to 36 points qet higher during the first few minutes. October touching 30.40c and January 4D.4Je. There waa eanstderable southern selling on the advance, however, which also met further liquidation, and later fluctuations were Irreg-

ular.

The continued weakness of sterling exchange and an easier turn In the stock market unsettled early buyers, and the market broke sharply toward midday. October sold off to 39.45c and January to lO-tec, or 8 to U points net lower, and about 40 to 0 points from the high level of the mornihg. Offerings were comparatively light on the midday decline and the market firmed up again early in the afternoon on renewed covering and more aggressive buying for a reaction. A steadier ten* in the stock market was a factor on the advance, which carried October up to gLTOc and January is 30.77c,

or 63 to 65 points net higher. Liverpool Spot Cotton Eastor.

It ’s Tough

A “Peerless” High-Speed Reamer la tougher than the toughest carbon reamer— The high-speed steel blades are brazo-hardened into the carbon steel body. We’ve watched this reamer prove itself in countless cases during the past ten years— We KNOW it’s tougher than any other reamer. We frankly regard it as the ULTIMATE high speed reamer— Because it not only is a BETTER high speed reamertougher and far less liable to breakage—but it actually costa less than the old time brittle type.
