CORN HUSK CIGARETTES

ISpccial to The ln<lianaix>Hs News.) t HAMMOND, Ind-. August 20. — Nora I Marsok. a Servian girl, whose father j j has figured in the war between j j Servians and Hungarians In Whiting, is j j at her home, suffering from wounds In- j dieted by a cudgel in the hands of her j 1 lover, a leader of the Hungarian crowd. * j The girl gave information to the Ser- ; j vians which led to a melee in which she j I was hurt. The fight occurred in a ceme- ; j tepy near the refinery of the Standard j : Oil Company. A band of Hungarians had ! j taken possession of the cemetery, most of j | them having gone io sleep on the ground. | j Two men acted as sentinels, and one of j J them kindled a fire to keep away mos- j j quitoes. . j i Nora Harsok saw the blaze and went > ! to the saloon of A. Ptfnte. where some , j of her people were giving a dance. Men J ' and women were in all stages of intoxi- : : cation, and when the girl appeared they j ] deserted the saloon, armed with beer' bottles, to attack the sleeping Huns. Hungarians Were Ready. The assailants made no effort to move In sepret and when they reached the cemetery the Hungarians were ready,, for them. As the Servians! climbed the fence, they wefe greeted ' by a shower of bricks, bottles and rub- I blah. The women fought on the same i terms as the men. As two men were i struggling in each others arms, a Servian woman rushed to them and struck the Hungarian on the head with a beer bottle. He dropped to the

ground unconscious.

In t^ie fight Nora Harsok was struck I on the head by a man named Puli, who ! failed to recognize her in the uncer- j tain light. The girl half turned and j giving a pitiful cry. fell to the ground. ; When Puli saw who he had struck, he tried to pick her up, but was driven | ! back by the advancing Servians. A gang of Servians was found by j < Huns in an incomplete building . j In Schrage avenue and an effort was j made to fire the house, but the flames! were put out. A fight followed in i i which John Borowskl was struck with j l a spiked board. He was taken home j j In a delirious condition and may die. ' ! The mayor has ordered al! the saloons i closed in Oklahoma, where the Ser-

! vians live.

Early Risers ^ THE FAMOUS LITTLE FILLS. ^

For quick relief from Biliousness, Sick Headache, Torpid Liver. Jaundice. Dizziness, and ail troubles arising from an Inactive or sluggish liver, DeWitt's Little Early Risers are unequalled. They act promptly and never gripe. They are so dainty that i t is a pleasure to take them. One to two act as a mild laxative; two or four act as a pleasant and effective cathartic. They are purely vegetable and absolutely harmless. They tonic the liver. FRKPARBD ONLY IT £• C. D*Witt & Co., Chicago
