At the fair and concert being held In Masonic Hall by the Boys* Father Mathew Brigade the seven divisions of the Ancient Cbder of Hibernians were entertained last night. The hall was filled to Its utmost capacity, and the promoters of the fair believe that over $1,000 was cleared. One of the most pleasing feat-

the Vanderbilts is to build a cut-off thirty mUes long from Qalton, O.. to Youngstown, and by that cut-off make direct connection with the Big Four and the Pittsburg & Lake Erie. Local officers of the Big Four say they know nothing of the proposed cut-off and say that If such work is contemplated It would be worked out in New York before anyone In Indianapolis would know about IL Some surv'eys between Gallon and Youngstown have been made, and the Vanderbilt system obtained some right-of-way between Akron and Pittsburg, when It secured the Lake Erie ft Western. The freight offioers of the Big Four at this point say that such a cut-off would be a good thing, but they do not know whether It will be built or not

In the desk were $1,6^ In paper bills that had been left there by Captain Kruger, but the money was not damaged. He had left the station an hour before, and as he does not smoke, it is a burning question as to who threw the lighted cigar In the basket. The furniture was damaged ISO.
