Mrs. Eliza Young, cook for the officers at the Plainfield Reform Bchool, was triumnbantly vindicated in Justice Daniels’s court yesterday afternoon in a case that was thrown out of court. Mary B. Williams brought a malicious trespass'charee against Mrs. Young, and a constable arrested the defendant, and would have put her into jail had not bond been furnished. When the case came to a hearing, after the defendant had been put to the expense of two tripe to the city, the Court found that there was no autbonty for such a proceeding. The defendant was discharged and intimates that counter proceedings for malicious prosecution might be brought. The New and the Old Building. Mr. R. D. This is excursion time, and there is no exception to the rule which generally prevails. As usual, thousands of peopls are taking advantage of the low rates offered by tbe railroads to get out into the mountains or to visit some watering-place. Bathing nowadays is not only a luxury, but it ia fashionable, you know, and the'nioer the bath robe tbe more one ia in—the water, of oourse. Those persons who contemplate going to a watering-place should not neglect to call and get one of those fashionable bathing suits-whioh have just been piaoed on exhibition by Mr. Paul II. Krauss. He has made selections of the prettiest goods in this line, in both Jadisa’and gentlemen’s outfits. Almost any one attired in one of these lovely suits can swim, whether one has ever been in the water before or not Neglige shirts and fine summer underwear, in all the newest shades, are late attractions among the handsome goods shown by Mr. Krauss. RING ALCOHOL. The Demon Loses Anotlier, Who Is fUsou*d by tn* Treatment at the Celebrated WherreU Institute, the Moat Successful Institute For the Care of the Liquor Habit—Mr. George Prindle’s Letter—Gooa Advice. In bidding adieu to the Wherrell Bi-Chloride of Gold Institute, located at No. Ml North Illinois street, after taking a coarse of treatment therein, I can but testify to thf great good it has done me In curing me of the whisky disease. They promised me that in four weeks they would dethrone King Aicohoi, establish the rule of reason and common seaae tn ita stead, and leave me as free a man aa I was before I degraded my manuood and fuddled my brain with the first drink. I was skeptical of their ability to do this, as I bad often trtea. by the exercise of my will power, to free myself from the terrible curse only to relapse and fall deeper, ana still deei er. Into the mire of drunkenness. But only a few davs were necessary to satisfy me that Dr. Wherrell had discovered one of nature's agencies, before which tnia mighty king, after killing his millions. must how, and admit himself defeated. And, now, after four weeks of treatment, I take pleasure in saying that the promisee made me have been fulfilled to the letter, and I am completely freed from all desire for intoxicating liquors, and am restored to my family an honorable member, and can Uke my place in the world as a useful cittsen. What I would have keen bad not this God-given remedy been discovered any one can divine by referring la memory to the many noble men thatthey have known to descend the road, commencing at occasional tippling, then down to the steady drinker, then the habitual saloon bum and loafer, and eading only la a drunkard's grave; and followed there by relatives and friends who, while weeping over my wasted life, would rejoice that I could add no more to the deep disgrace 1 had already heaped upon them. But, thanks to this invaluable treatment. J. can now hold ep my head among the nrondeet, aad from the depths of a grateful heart can say: Aaved! Saved! Saved!
