The fact has just been made known that several weeks ago four young hoodlums, eighteen or twenty years of age,ravished a crippled girl whom they met in one of the railroad yards, shortly after dark on her way home. Nothing waa said by^ the p«lica .about the affair at the time* and now it has been almost forgotten. The young scoundrels could not he identified and no arrests were made. Harris Honitz, an old junk dealer, was arrested yesterday for receiving a portion of the goods stolen from the Vandalia road by the Smith and Kelly gang. Simon Abrams, who was‘arrested for the same offense Wednesday, jumped his bail yesterday. A search was made for some of the goods by the police yesterday afternoon at the Michigan street bridge over White river, but nothing was found. Another .Attempt to Wreck a Train. Officers OTIaver and Kitzmiller last night discovered a pile of ties thrown across the track of the Indianapolis, Cincinnati & Lafeyette railroad, near St. Clair street. While removing them it was seen that a switch had been opened and spiked, a chain fastened across the rails and a number of stones placed in the frogs. The scoundrels who did the job intended to wreck the outgoing midnight train, whicn came thundering along in a few moments after the track was cleared. In the Park.
