The democxaU have tinally got oown to a realization of the true a tate of affairs, and whereas they have been loudly confident, thev now aay that no man can tell; we must wait for the official vote. A few of tbe wildest make vague threats of terrible things that will happen if Hayea ia elected by the votes of Louisiana, South Carolina and Florida, saying that they will prevent his inauguration and all that sort of thing. But tbe majority take a very ctim view of tbe possibilities of the case, and have reasoned themselves into a frame of mind that will enable tnem to submit with some degree of grace to any diseppoimment that may be in store for them. The Conover fraudulent dispatch frightened the republicans for a abort time, but they soon recovered tone, aud are now quietly confident. Tbe day has been infested with wild stories, growing out of t^ie excited state of the public mind, that have lived brief, troubled lives, each in tnrn contributing to tbe excitement Tbe people, however, seem to have become exhausted, and have gone borne pretty well satised that they .can not hasten tla proiokiugly slow development of the facts.
