BUSINESS HOTICES.

A fight occurred last night at a South Meridian street saloon, between the barkeeper and a man named John McCarty. The latter was badly beaten. city conn. A Mrs. Wilmot was charged by Mrs. Anuie Carts tel with the larceny of a dress, some distfts, and knives and forks, from her at No. 270 Bast Washington street. The evidence showing no cause of action, the case was dismissed. William A. Coffield, the young man from Franklin, who ent his own pocket open and pretended he had been robbed yesterday of $195 belonging to his father, was tried for carrying a pair of brass knuckles, and fined f9l5 65. He was also sent to jail for one day to await the arrival of his father, who has been telegraphed to at Franklin. Thomas McLain was assessed $8 65 for carrying a concealed revolved upon his person. Jailed. ‘ t, » ' Charles Sbockwell assaulted John Kelley, and was fined $6 95, which amount he paid. . The “Rev.” James Dempsey, arrested last night, was found guilty of drunken and disorderly conduct. His fine was remitted, and he was allowed to go on to Cincinnati, wher# he claimed to have some ministerial appoint-

ment.
