“Freedom,” a men’s ensemble from Bethel College, in Mishawaka, will be performing at the Koontz Lake Missionary Church, on Sunday, Nov. 10, at the 10:10 a.m. service. “Freedom” has represented the college for the past two years throughout the United States and Canada. The members of the group have been selected on the basis of musical ability and experience, academic qualifications and Christian commitment.

The 1996-97 season promises to be better than ever for the Ancilla College “Chargers” basketball team according to head basketball coach, Gene Reese. The team will once again venture into big time competition and try to beat their record 16 wins from last season. The Chargers are scheduled to play in six four-way tournaments in Fort Wayne, Cincinnati, Anderson, Chicago, Grand Rapids and Westville. A 26 game schedule is also on tap against tough colleges and universities such as Glen Oaks, Lake Michigan, Bethel College, Goshen College, Grace College, Manchester College, Ohio State/Lima, Miami University/Hamilton, Moody Bible Institute, Taylor University, Concordia University and Fairhaven College. “Everyone is looking forward to a great season,” said coach Reese. “With the addition of assistant coach Steve Flowers, we have been given an extra 20 years of coaching experien-

The ensemble presents a variety of music, ranging from traditional hymn texts, showcased in creative and innovative settings, to contemporary sacred songs featured by many of today’s popular religious recording artists. The group continues to delight audiences with a number of selections that reflect the rich heritage of southern gospel singing.
