BETTER HOMES CLUB GATHERS The Better Homes Extension Club held their Halloween party in the home of Norma Eddinger who was assisted by Veryl Wathen. Upon entering the home all were greeted with many smiling lighted pumpkin faces. Our president, Marty Malstaff, conducted the business meeting and led in the pledge to the flag and the repeating of the club creed. She then read a cute poem entitled, “How Could A Haunted House Be Scarey?” Ten ladies answered roll call with each telling a spooky time they remembered. The treasurer and secretary reports were read and approved. The birthday song was sung for Mrs. Malstaff and Mary Hahn.
Ruth Ullery, family life chairman, had an article on hugs and greeting others which was followed by Alice Walker, cultural arts chairman, reading a story about the city girls getting schooling in country living. Gerri Ruby, health and safety chairman, gave ideas on how to cope with stress. Mrs. Hahn, citizenship chairman, reminded all to vote. The Christmas party committee which is chaired by Mrs. Ruby, told of plans that have been made to go to the Ben Smith home, on Pine Road, on Dec. 12, at 6 p.m. Reservations are to be in by the first of Dec. The Nov. meeting will be at the home of Mrs. Malsaff and to bring $3 and a picture that you wish to paint on a round saw blade. Post cards will be sent to members reminding them of the meetings.
