OBITUARIES
DELORES M. HANEY Delores Mae (Dankert) Haney, 63, of 909 Harrison Street, Walkerton, passed away at 8:05 a.m., on Monday, November 4, at her home following an illness. She was born on May 12, 1933, in North Liberty, to Lloyd Henry Dankert and Hattie Bernice (Snyder) Dankert. On March 24, 1951, in Knox, she married Earl Eugene (Gene) Haney, who preceded her in death on Sept. 29, 1996. She was the office manager and coowner of Gene’s Plastics, of Walkerton. Surviving are a daughter, Vickie Ganger, of Walkerton; two sons, Terry Haney and Billy Haney, both of Plymouth; two grandchildren; five great grandchildren; two sisters, Dora McLean, of Plymouth and Dorothy Kinney, of Clearwater, FL and a brother, Lloyd (Ed) Dankert, of Walkerton. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday at the First Baptist Church, Walkerton, of which she was a member, with Rev. D. O. Van Dyne, officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Walkerton. She was a member of the Evening Star Rebekah Lodge 465, Walkerton and memorial contributions may be made to either First Baptist Church, Walkerton or St. Joseph County Hospice. EMILY SCHAUNAMAN Emily A. Schaunaman, 64, of Miller’s Merry Manor, Walkerton, passed away at 12:25 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 1, at the nursing home. She was born on May 17, 1932, in Warsaw to David and Vera Cripe Stull. She married Merle Schaunaman, on Nov. 4, 1950, who survives. She was formerly employed by PCA, of Wanatah. Surviving along with her husband are two daughters, Pam Cable, of Walkerton and Cathy Cleveland, of Grovertown; three grandchildren; one sister, June Seese, of Koontz Lake and a brother, Louis Stull, of Biloxi, Miss. Services were held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday at the Rannells Funeral Home, Koontz Lake Chapel, with Rev. Lowell Hutsell officiating. Burial was in the Grovertown Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the River Park Tabernacle, South Bend. She was a member of the church. She was preceded in death by a brother, Jerry. *** A part of kindness consists in loving people more than they deserve.
