REAL SERVICES NEWS FROM WALKERTON Senior Citizens gather Monday thru Friday at the REAL Services site, in Walkerton, and welcome all newcomers to join them. Call the day prior to when you wish to attend to eat with us and a reservation will then be made for you. Last Monday we were happy to welcome two new people to our group. A poem was ready by Eleanor Leming entitled, “Have you planted your garden yet?’’ This was followed by the table prayer. /Sy On Tuesday Mrs. Leming read some jokes to entertain the group and then gave the table prayer. On Wednesday our site director, Betty Clapper, read some jokes to help cheer us up. Thursday was our Flu Shot day and a large number of seniors took advantage of this. Entertainment*® * by Florence Seekings, Verl Haag and Walt Holderread was enjoyed. Kay Hampe gave the table prayer. Friday we had our usual sing-a-long with Verice Walz at the piano and Virginia Anhold leading the singing. Coming up on Nov. 11 we will be entertained by Maxine Worthington and friends; Nov. 13 the foot doctor will be here as well as this is the date for the Oct., Nov. and Dec. birthdays. President Alice Flaugher, of Orville Easterday Unit 189, Walkerton, announced the many awards presented to members or the unit for the past fiscal year. Third District awards were made to Mary Clark for the Children & Youth program; Marthe Malstaff, History; Alice Flaugher, Ist place in the Senior Poppy Corsage contest and to Judy Gravenor for the Chaplain’s Book of Prayers.
