St. Patrick School Still Struggles To Keep Doors Open Last February St. Patrick School, in Walkerton, came within a hair’s width of closing its doors. Thanks to the efforts of the parents, parish and Walkerton residents and businesses it was kept open. However, the school was only guaranteed to stay open for the 1996-97 school year. It must meet more criteria to stay open for the 1997-98 school year. One these criteria is that the school meet a certain amount of its budget. With this in mind the Parish

School Assocation will be hosting a Fish Fry, on Friday, November 1, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the school. The Tyner 1.0.0. F. Lodge will be preparing the fish with their popular secret recipe. Tickets for the fish fry are as follows: adults and carry-outs are $5.50; children ages seven to 12 may eat for $3.00. Each meal comes with a homemade dessert and all proceeds will go to helping the school stay open. As you ready yourself for your weekly night out, please keep St. Patrick’s Fish Fry in mind. Free Immunization Clinics Offered In The Area The St. Joseph County Health Department will be conducting Immunization Clinics in the area during the first part of November for the area children.
