OBITUARIES
EULA NORTHAM Eula Orissa (Hancock) Northam, 88, passed away on Sunday morning in Miller’s Merry Manor nursing home, Walkerton. She formerly resided at 600 Indiana St., Walkerton. She was born on March 9, 1908, in Hamlet, to Aomos and Cora (Heath) Hancock, who preceded her in death. She married John Wesley Northam on July 21, 1926, in Goshen, who preceded her in death on Feb. 25, 1966. She lived in this area for 64 years coming from Hamlet. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Betty Helton, of Knox and Elsie Neill, of Bedford; one son, Robert, of Walkerton; eight grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren and a sister, Elnora Roberts, of Plymouth. She was preceded in death by two

brothers, Cecil and Richard. Mrs. Northam retired in 1978 from Miller’s Merry Manor dietary department after 30 years of service. Services were held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday in the Nusbaum-Elkin Funeral Home, Walkerton with burial following in Woodlawn Cemetery, Walkerton. Memorial contributions may be made to the Walkerton United Methodist Church, of which she was a member. REAL SERVICES NEWS FROM WALKERTON On Monday of last week an enjoyable day was held with Violet Wolff and friends on hand to entertain. Then on Tuesday we welcomed three new people to the site and spent the day visiting with one another. On Wednesday Eleanore Leming read an article out of Ann Lander’s column, “Life Begins At 80.”
Thursday we were treated to a story by Morris Searfoss. Friday is our usual sing-a-long day with Polly Klopfenstein at the piano and Virginia Anhold leading the singing.
