SAVE THOSE RECEIPTS & BOX TOPS St. Patrick School takes advantage.of businesses that are trying to help in the rising costs of education. Whether it be through the “Education Advantage Program” offered through Ray & Kenny’s Supervalu, here in Walkerton or through General Mills in their box top program. Parents are invited to save their receipts from Ray & Kenny’s and give them to the school so that they may be turned into the participating store and turned into cash for the school. Bags for these receipts hang in the school corridor and parents and friends of the school are encouraged to participate in this worthwhile program. General Mills’ offer to turn box tops into education funds is also another way that St. Patrick School, in Walkerton, is helping to meet the high expenses of running a top-notch educational program. General Mills will pay 15 c for each box top up to a total of SIO,OOO. In addition, General Mills will offer a SSO bonus for every 750 box tops collected. Parents and friends are encouraged to save box tops from the following General Mills’ products: Cheerios a Golden Grahams Lucky Charms Total ^^l Trix Wheaties "—^3 Send your box tops to the school so that parent volunteers can count and bundle them up. Every 250 box tops will be sent in for cash.

Indiana Senate Offers Legislative Internships N imtm State Senate Democrat Leader Robert F. Hellmann, Terre Haute, has announced that the Indiana Senate Democratic Caucus is now accepting applications for 10-12 legislative internships with the 1997 Indiana General Assembly. The four-month paid internships, which will begin in January, are available to college juniors, seniors, graduate students and recent graduates. No specific major area of study is required. Course credit is determined by each school. Selected students are considered full-time staff throughout the legislative session which must adjourn by April 29, 1997. Intern duties include: legislative research, attending committee hearings, responding to constituent inquiries, writing press releases and assisting senators with daily legislative activities. This year we will be offering the second annual GTE Legislative Intern Scholarship. GTE was generous enough to provide for four $2,50Q scholarships.
