Plans for next week’s Football Homecoming celebration are underway at John Glenn High School. This year’s Homecoming game is against the Culver Cavaliers. The homecoming theme is “Take A Walk On The Wild Side.” Throughout the week of October 7-11, high school students will be participating in various “Spirit Days” to show their enthusiasm and support for the team. ending at JG High School. The line-up is set for 5:30 p.m. and the parade will begin at 6:00 p.m. Following the parade are the bonfire, speeches and festivities in back of the high school. John Glenn students will be voting for the Homecoming King and Queen candidates on Thursday, Oct. 10. A pep session will cap off the school day on Friday, Oct. 11. For the Friday evening events the John Glenn band is preparing a pre-game
show to begin at 7:15 p.m. The game will begin at 7:30 p.m., and at halftime the Homecoming King and Queen candidates will be introduced and the winners will be announced and crowned. Following the game the Student Council is sponsoring a dance until midnight. Thread The Nut Contest At Kabelin Hrdw. On Saturday, October 5, during the Pumpkin Festival, Kabelin True Value Hardware, 410 Indiana Street, Walkerton, will be sponsoring the “Thread The Nut” contest. Throw the football through the gigantic nut in the store to win one of many great prizes’ Contest is open to kids, men and women of all ages with no purchase necessary or no entry fee! Registration sign-in is set for 1:00 p.m. and the contest will begin at 1:30 p.m. on “Game Day — Oct. 5” at the local hardware store. Rules will be available in the store and for additional information call 586-3233.
