the Fall season at the Community Building, in Walkerton. Barbara Simpson, past president, opened the meeting since the new president, Carol Knop, is on vacation in Alaska. Mrs. Simpson thanked the members for their cooperation in the five years that she has served as president of the club. Installation of the new officers was handled by Verda Karn with Mrs. Simpson accepting the office for Mrs. Knop. The lovely ceremony was assisted by Anne Gray who pinned pretty butterflies on each of the new officers after Mrs. Karn read to them of their duties. Shirley Awald then gave a preview of the activities of the new year and the yearbooks will be passed out in October. The club will continue to make monthly donations to the Community Pantry and will play bingo with the residents of Miller’s Merry Manor. A bake sale is planned for Nov. and in April and it was voted to place Lucille Schuster, Betty King and Caroline Hancovsky on the honorary members list. Members were reminded to bring candy to the Oct. meeting for the residents of the nursing home to give to the trick or treaters on Halloween night. Birthday celebrants were Margaret Tracy and Gen England with Mrs. Tracy receiving the prize. Hostesses for the meeting included Mrs. Karn and Mrs. Gray. The next meeting will be on Oct. 4 at the Community Building. After adjournment Mrs. Karn gave a flower basket to each of the officers and the members received lovely gladiolas from the Karn’s garden. » News / I / v Ear ^ ; SALYER ! !
