FAMILY REUNION ENJOYED The Keiper family had their first family reunion at the home of Tom and Boni Keiper, near Monterey, on Sunday, August 25. For-ty-nine members attended from Grovertown, Koontz Lake, Walkerton, Huffman Lake, Elkhart, Mishawaka, Silver Lake and Leesburg. The grandchildren and great-grandchildren enjoyed the day running over the farm and playing with seven beagle puppies. It was a great day for swimming in the pool; looking at photo albums and for recalling happenings from long ago. The family is most grateful to Vai’s and Nadine’s son-in-law, Charles Carnes, who took on the job of notifying the members, of drawing maps so they wouldn’t be likely to get lost and other details of a family reunion. It was a big job and he did it very well. It was wonderful for all
the family to be together. A date will be set for the 1997 reunion shortly. Vai and Nadine celebrated the 61st anniversary of their marriage on August 31, and also Tom’s birthday. My family and I would like to thank the staff at Miller’s Merry Manor, in Walkerton, for the excellent care that they gave to our father during his stay. We all appreciate the love and compassion everyone gave to Dad before his passing. Thank you all very much. The Heim Family Love is the only game that is not called on account of darkness.
