NOTICE TO BIDDERS Notice is hereby given that the Town of Walkerton, Walkerton, Indiana, is requesting bids for remodeling and addition to the Walkerton Volunteer Fire Department Fire Station. Bids will be received in the Town Clerk Office, 510 Roosevelt Road, Walkerton, Indiana 46574 until the hour of 3:00 p.m., local time, on the 16th day of September 1996. Bids will be opened and publicly read aloud at 7:30 p.m. that day at the Town Hall, 510 Roosevelt Road, Walkerton, Indiana during the scheduled Town Meeting. Any bid received after 3:00 p.m. will be returned unopened. The work shall be performed as per plans and specifications prepared by an can be obtained at the offices of Korbuly, Graf, Weber, Inc. Three (3) sets of contract documents (drawings and specifications) to each General Contractor for a refundable deposit of $50.00 per set. If additional sets are required, the contractor shall purchase these from the Town at a non-refund able cost of $50.00 per set. Plans and specifications are to be returned in good condition. All proposals must be accompanied by a signed copy of the “Statement of Bidders Qualification/Affirmative Action’’ in the form set forth in the specifications. Unless this signed statement accompanies bidders proposal, the proposal will not be considered and will be an invalid incomplete proposal. All prime contractors submitting bids on the project shall encourage qualified minority subcontractors to perform any portions of the work in the project not performed by the contractor’s own forces. Bidders must submit written evidence that
quotations have been solicited from qualified minority subcontractors at the time bidder submits its bid to the Town of Walkerton for all portions of the work in the projects which the bidder is not proposing to perform with its own forces.
