Slack were married in Elkhart on June Bth at the Zion Missionary Church. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Blake Slack, of Elkhart, and a graduate of Elkhart High School. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Leo Hunsley and the late George (Peck) Lowry, of Walkerton and a graduate of John Glenn High School. The couple have made their home at 1507 Bower Street, Elkhart, following a honeymoon to Florida. The St. Joseph County Health Dept, will be conducting immunization clinics during September. In Walkerton the clinic will be held at the United . Methodist Church, 1000 Georgia Street, on Tuesday, Sept. 3, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. In the Lakeville area the clinic will be held at the Old Lakeville School Project, U.S. 31, on Thursday, September 5, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. In North Liberty the clinic will be held at the Community Center at 300 S. Main, on Tuesday, Sept. 10, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. No appointments are necessary. All children must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian and all previous shot records are needed for immunizations. North Liberty Budget Hearings Held Recently The 1997 Town of North Liberty Budget Hearing meeting was held at the Town Hall, on Monday, August 19, and called to order at 7 p.m., by president Richard Warner. Other Council members present were Sara Williams, Eric Morris, Tim Van Ove-
berghe and Gerry Brown. Pauline Laskowski was also present. Clerk-treasurer, Paul F. Williams, Jr., explained the budget process and how the amounts were determined. Advertised budget as follows based on $5,297,400 assessed valuation. General fund $292,622; Park fund $13,419; Cum. Cap. Dev. fund $8,571; Motor Vehicle Hwy. $38,453; Local Road & Street $21,754; Cum. Cap. Impr. $6,861; CEDIT $8,930 and Local Law Enforce CE $2,445 for a total of $393,055. Rate 4.7564 .2120 .1429 Total 5.1113 After discussion, Eric Morris made the motion to accept the budget as advertised and have it presented for adoption at 7 p.m. on Monday, August 26, 1996. Seconded by Tim VanOverberghe with a unanimous aye. Other Council members present were Tim VanOverberghe, Sara Williams and Eric Morris arrived later. Others present were Betty Benson and Pauline Laskowski. Vice president Brown stated the purpose of this meeting was to adopt the 1997 Town Budget which was presented at the hearing on August 19, 1996 and approved as advertised. Ordinance 1996-07-Ordinance for Appropriations and Tax Rates presented for the year ending December 31, 1997. VanOverberghe made the motion to adopt Ordinance 1996-07, seconded by S. Williams with a 3 aye and 0 nay vote. Due to president Warner being out of town, the regular Town Council meeting scheduled for Wednesday, Sept.. 4, 1996 will be held on Wednesday, September 11, 1996 by unanimous agreement. Motion to adjourn at 7:22 p.m. by VanOverberghe, seconded by S. Williams with a unanimous aye.
