President Loretta Pressel opened the meeting with welcoming all and reading a poem entitled, “Take A Mini Vacation.’’ This was followed by prayer. Linda Relos, treasurer, gave her report which included the donation of S2OO to help youth attend church camp and S2OO to help pay for the recently held bible school. Marian Chapman, chairman of the nominating committee, reported the 1997 slate of officers as follows: Loretta Pressel, president; Evelyn Awald, vice president; Fudge Klopfenstein, secretary; Linda Relos, treasurer; Eileen Clark, program materials; Linda Klinedinst, communications; Sherrill Kickbush, education and enterpretation; Mildred Smith, spiritual growth; Elsie Keck, social action; Mary Hahn, membership; Marilyn Wallace and Mary Hahn, kichen chairpersons and serving on the nominating committee will be Millie Daniels, Opal Bullinger, Byrdie Searfoss and Penni Fansler. Dates to remember include the district meeting on Sat., Sept. 21, from 9 a.m. to 12 noon at the New Hope United Methodist Church, Elkhart; the conference meeting on Sat., Oct. 12, at Valparaiso UM Church and on Sat., Oct. 19 will be the annual Arts & Crafts as well as baked goods sale. Devotions were given by Mrs. Smith followed by song and a poem. The program was presented by Mrs. Kickbush on the book, “Don’t Just Stand There Pray Something.’’
