Lou Ann Homan is a storyteller with a special talent. Her performance on Saturday, August 17, at 7:00 p.m. at Peppermint Hill, is free of charge and open to the public. Whether it’s her stories about “growin’ up a Hoosier” or her travels across the Atlantic, she always keeps her audience hanging on every word. If you have any doubts about storytelling, you owe it to
yourself to give Lou Ann a listen. Tuxedo Junction brings the music of the 1940’s to life with the big band sound of its twelve to fifteen band members on Saturday, August 31, at 7 p.m. at the boat rental lawn. Tuxedo Junction hails from Rochester, IN and frequently performs in the northern region of the state at festivals, conventions and
special events. This big band concert is a special treat for park visitors. You are invited to bring the family to either of these presentations. The standard $2.00 fee per car ($5.00 for out of state license plates) will be charged at the gate. Lawn chairs or blankets are suggested to ensure comfortable seating. Second place was given to Brenda Culesi, of Mishawaka, for her twocrust lemon pie and third place to Kathy Bowyer, of Granger, for her fresh raspberry pie. The judges had a very difficult time searching for a winner through the 26 pie entries, pies were judged on appearance and taste. All pies were sold by the slice after being judged and proceeds from the sale were donated to the 4-H Fair for the 4-H Scholarship Fund.
