being erected to house offices for William Buckley, MD, a specialist in internal medicine and Mohammad K. Tabib, MD, and Carey Ransone, MD, specialists in urology. Subsequent phases are anticipated to house up to six additional physician practices, with future construction timed to meet demand. In conjunction with current construction, extensive infrastructure improvements are being made in the area. The City of LaPorte expects to repave areas of State Street and curbs and gutters are being provided for the first time. Michael St., which borders Founders’ Square on the west side, is being straightened and improved. The hospital is providing sidewalks and landscaping to further enhance the area. LaPorte Hospital purchased the site from CSX Railroad several years ago which formerly housed rail yards, a depot and support struc-

Porter-Rae Cemetery Tour Set For Aug. 21 Join Jan Shupert-Arick, Center for History Education Coordinator and a descendent of early settlers for an informative and interesting tour of PorterRae Cemetery, located in Potato Creek State park, on Wednesday, August 21, at 7:00 p.m. The Porter-Rae Cemetery reflects local rural life in the 19th century and includes burials from the African-American Huggart Settlement. There is a park entrance fee and for the tour meet at the cemetery parking lot. For more information contact the Northern Indiana Center for History at 2359664.
