POT LUCK MEETING ENJOYED BY UMW The United Methodist Women held their regular meeting on Monday, July Bth, at the Koontz Lake Home of Marian Chapman. It was a beautiful day for a pot luck in the screened in patio held at noon with Mrs. Chapman giving the dinner prayer. Following the meal the president, Loretta Pressel, led the meeting which she opened with the reading of Proverbs 15:13. She reminded us to keep that smile on our face. The secretary, Mary Hahn and the treasurer, Elsie Keck gave their reports. Carolyn Kissinger, a guest, was introduced and she is the new educational assistant at the church. The school of Christian Missions will be held on July 24 to the 27th with several of the members planning on attending. The Church Homecoming celebration will be held on Sunday, July 21 with a pot luck dinner to be held at 12 noon. Come and help us celebrate the 30th anniversary of the uniting of the Walkerton EUB and
Methodist Church. There will be a hands-on mission event in Indianapolis on August 11 to the 14 chaired by the UMW Conference and our president will be representing our Michiana district. The next general meeting will be held at the church on Thursday, August 15, at 7 p.m. with Sherrill Kickbush to be in charge of the program. The district meeting will be on Sept. 21 at the Elkhart United Methodist Church. Devotions were given by Millie Daniels and she ended with prayer.
