AMBULANCE BAY DAMAGE Council member Hoover asked if the contractors had replied with any figures on fixing the Ambulance Bay. Clerk-treasurer Chrapliwy said that they had not but that she would make sure that the Council had some answers by the next meeting. BUILDING INSPECTOR The clerk-treasurer was asked to advertise for a Building Inspector again. The deadline for responses will be August sth. LOAD STUDY Spectrum Engineering submitted a proposal for a Load Study, Short Circuit Evaluation and Protective Device Coordination Analysis. The Council took it under advisement. STEVEN GROVES It was announced that the contractual agreement between Steven Groves and the Town would be turned over to the attorney for his review. NEW BUSINESS

WHITEMAN’S CONTACT FOR THE 1 DOWNTOWN TREES The clerk-treasurer said that she had contacted Whiteman’s, in Plymouth, concerning the contract that the town had with them on the maintainance of the trees in the downtown area. She was only able to respond to an answering machine but will keep trying. LIBRARY BUILDING Dave Behr reported that as soon as the money is received from the Department of Commerce the transaction for the new building will take place. RELATED PROJECTS In other related projects, Mr. Behr reported that work is being started on a new Community Building. The Housing Improvement Project is being detained because of incomplete bidding specifications. CSX PROPERTY The town attorney advised the Council on the problems of the CSX property. He asked that the Council give him permission to appoint another attorney who would be more familiar with environmental law. Council member Hoover made a motion to allow Mr. Jones to get another attorney for this particular matter which

was seconded by Hartsell and the motion passed with a five to zero vote. The clerk-treasurer was asked to research the matter as to the legal description of the property in question. GRANT RANDY WILLIAMS Randy Williams would like to apply for a grant to build 60 single family homes in Hickory Lanes Subdivision. Dave Behr arranged the publication for the hearing to be scheduled at his office at 612 Roosevelt Rd., on July Bth at 4:00 p.m. Council member Hoover made a motion to go ahead with the grant and have the president of the Council sign the necessary paperwork. Council member Reese seconded the motion and the motion passed with a five to zero vote. CANADA CELEBRATION President Williams reported to the Council on his recent trip to Canada for their 125 year celebration. He said that the celebration was very well organized and he brought back numerous memoribilia for the Council to look at. He suggested that we begin to organize for Walkerton’s 150th year celebration which will occur in 10 years. He would like to start forming committees now for the event. PARKSIDE ESTATES SUBDIVISION The Plan Commission met at 6:00 p.m. and approved the final plans of the subdivision known as “Parkside Estates.” The plans were submitted by Larry and Debra Klinedinst and Thelma Barden. On a motion by Reese the Parkside Estates Subdivision was approved as dedicated. Hartsell seconded the motion which passed by a five to zero vote. CLAIMS Claims numbered 678 to 731 totaling $219,071.76 and the payroll claim totaling $27,173.49 was approved on a motion by Reese,, seconded by Hartsell. ADJOURNMNET With no further business to come before the Council the meeting adjourned on a motion by Reese, seconded

semester classes being August 24th. Assessments are to be held at the 1534 W. Sample Street campus. Assessments are set for Tuesday, July 16 and Saturday, July 20, at 8:30 a.m.; Wednesday, July 17 and Thursday, July 25 at 1:00 p.m. and then on Tuesday, July 23, at 5:00 p.m. The assessment takes approximately four-hours and is part of the registration and admission process required of students seeking to enroll in degree programs or receive financial aid. They are also open to those exploring the possibility of enrolling in college classes at a future date. Those planning to attend an assessment should call the office of student services at 289-7001 to assure available space.
