vice vice In Memory Os Brian Stout And His Family A poem about Rachel, Shelly and Brian Stout Your pen doesn’t write anymore It stumbles and trembles in your hand If your dad were here he would understand Best of all he would be with you But they've put him in a casket He will think of you on his way Sprinkled ashes on him And sent him on his way You wouldn’t mind an early May Only if he came home today You would tell him how much you miss and love him And know you would be okay Your mom isn’t laughing now she works hard and she cries she wonders when true laughter will relieve her of her sighs And even when she’s smiling, her eyes won’t smile along Her face is growing older, she doesn’t seem as strong You worry cause you love her All friends say where there is love, there is away It’s funny how you never know how your life will go It’s funny how a dream can fade with the break of day You’re not sure where he is now Though you see him in your dreams All your friends say what we see aren’t how they seem Time can erase your memories But time can’t bring him home The last twelve years was apart of you And now that part is gone. by Goldie Tomblin Sixth Grader Walkerton Elementary

THE MESSIAH The Messiah oratorio, a Christmas tradition, was composed by George Frederick Handel in only twenty-five days, according to the World Book Encyclopedia. It was first performed in 1742 in Dublin. A year later King George II set the custom of standing during the oratorio’s “Halleulujah Chorus.”
