WILLIAM J. MORTAKIS William J. Mortakis, 67, of West Center Street, North Liberty, passed away at 2:15 p.m., on Sunday, Nov. 5, in his home after an illness. He was born on Sept. 19, 1928, in SoutH Bend and lived in North Liberty since 1955. He married Patricia Ann Farrar on Sept. 10, 1955, in North Liberty, who survives. He retired in 1992 from American States Insurance Co., as a branch claims manager after 31 years of service. Also surviving are a daughter, Karen Ruihley, of Sturgis, Mich.; a son, John, of South Bend and two grandchildren.

Memorial services were held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday at the North Liberty United Methodist Church, of which he was a member. Burial will be held at a later date at Woodlawn Cemetery, Walkerton. The Palmer Funeral Home, Lakeville, is in charge of the arrangements. He was a* member of the Masonic portage^ Lodge 675, South Bend; South Bend Adjuster Association and the Scottish Rite Valley of South Bend. Nov. 3, in Cordell Manor, after an .illness. He was born on Jan. 6, 1911, in Chicago. He married Anne Kirchner, on August 31, 1936, in Chicago, who survives. He had been an inspector for the Ford Motor Co., in Chicago Heights, Illinois. Also surviving are a daughter, Linda Carli, of South Holland, Ill.; a son, Louis, Jr., of Cordell, Oklahoma; six grandchildren; one greatgrandchild and a brother, Bruno, of Koontz Lake. Services were held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 7, at St. Patrick Church, Walkerton, of which he was a member, with burial in the Gro vertown Cemetery. The Rannells Funeral Home, Koontz Lake Chapel, was in charge of the arrangements. SHIRLEY G. WILSON Shirley Goble Wilson, 59, of 8952 E. Campbell St., Knox, passed away at 4 a.m., on Sunday, Nov. 5,
in the home of her daughter, Suzanne Shedrow, following an illness. She was born on April 2, 1936, in LaPorte County. Surviving are three daughters, Terry Bau, Debbie Dalton and Suzanne Shedrow, all of Knox; a son, Harold Shepherd of Goshen; five grandsons; a great-granddaughter; seven sisters, Velma Duensing, of LaPorte, Judy Nordstrom, of Plymouth, Nancy Thompson, of Hamlet, and Betty Lewis, Jane McCarty, Ruth Wilson and Mary Lou Mullins, all of Knox; and seven brothers, Don Goble, of LaPorte, Kenneth, Chester and Dale Goble, all of Knox, and Gene, Roger and Dennis, all of Hamlet.
