The Cumberland Boys perforir as the Gospel Quartet at Opryland, USA in Nashville, Tennessee during the park’s operating season. They have appeared on severa television shows including Het Haw, Gospel Jubilee, Crook and Chase, Nashville Now, and Nash ville on Stage. They have alsc made seveal appearances on The Grand Old Opry and performed ai the 1994 National Quartet Convention. The group is made up of Depp Britt (tenor and leader), Steve Goforth (bass), Bill Britt (baritone) and Jim Worthing (lead). The Cumberland Boys have been recognized by country music fans with seven consecutive nominations in the Music City News/ Nashville Network Fan Voted Awards as “Christian Country Artist of the Year.” They were awarded the 1994 Gospel Voice Diamond Award for "Christian Country Group of the Year. ” Tickets for this performance are $5.00 general admission and are available by calling the Plymouth Arts Commission at (219) 935-4987. WOMEN-TALK LUNCHEON SLATED FOR OCT. 12 On Thursday, October 12, a special Women-Talk Luncheon sponsored by Saint Joseph’s Hospital of Marshall County, will host the topic "Aging Gracefully: MidLife Wellness.” Featured speaker will be Becky Stump, RN, BSN, OCN, who has been involved in developing innovative wellness programs for women at the Center for Women’s Health at Saint Joseph’s Medical Center, South Bend. She serves as the nurse clinician at the center and is the mother of two. Becky has spent a total of 12 years assisting women with a variety of health issues including serving as the oncology coordinator at Saint Elizabeth’s Hospital in Lafayette. Today aging gracefully is more than just a phrase to describe someone who doesn’t look her years. It involves an entire wellness program that allows a women to get the most out of life during her middle years. It requires taking pro-active steps to insure that every woman will remain healthy and active. The middle years are not the beginning of a downhill run. It can be the time when a woman becomes the best she can be. Attending the Thursday, Oct. 12 Women-Talk Luncheon could be the first step in making these years the most enjoyable time of her life. The luncheon will be conducted at the Balloon Wurks REstaurant. Cost is $8.50 per person ($7.50 for Focus on Women members).
