Lancers Blast Past Falcons Friday, 28-0 The John Glenn Falcons were handed their second loss of the | football season by the LaVille ’ Lancers on Friday evening, at LaVille. The Lancers won by a । score of 28-0 in this Northern State i Conference game. j Glenn’s power runner, Nick I Medich, was held to only 99 yards I for the night on 22 carries. He had 7 the week before in the Knox game a whopping 214 yards and three i • touchdowns to his credit. The - LaVille defense keyed on Medich > all night long. > The Lancers were led by their . two running backs, Adam Beery | and Jim Larkin. Larkin had 132 11 yards on 17 carries and credited for > three touchdowns while Beery had ' 63 yards on 13 carries and one ' touchdown. The junior quarterback, Brenton Fish, was credited for two passes for touchdowns in the contest, both to Larkin. The Lancers are a good size team , comparied to the Falcons. The John Glenn varsity volleyball team experienced a busy but exciting week as it split the six matches they participated in. Traveling to South Bend, the Falcons upset a more experienced St. Joe squad, 15-10, 5-15, 15-10. Superior blocking proved to be the key as the Falcons took the Indians out of their game. Bridget and Beth Honaker combined for 16 blocks while Holly Legge led the Falcon attack with 4 kills. Lindsay O’Connor had another fine performance with 7 assists, 7 digs, 19 of 19 serving and two service aces. After falling to North Judson, 15-3, 15-5, the Falcons traveled to the Triton Invitational on Sat. Glenn’s opening match of the tourney resulted in a tough three game defeat to South Central, 15-2, 9-15, 15-10. However the young Falcons, who have no seniors on the roster, stormed back to best conference rivals Triton, 15-2, 15-8 and Culver 15-12,15-8. Other highlights for Glenn included the 5 digs of Becca Strahm, 8-9 setting of Lynna Potts and the 7-8 passing of Jessica Traub.
