“Kids First” Walkerton Elementary School PTA would like to extend a warm welcome to all I We would also like to invite everyone to become a member of WES PTA. In case you are a little unfamiliar with the work of the WES PTA, let me tell you a little about it. PTA is a non-for-profit organization. All money earned, returns to and benefits our students and school. Our members pay $3.00 in dues per year. Members are asked, not required, to attend the monthly meetings and volunteer for different committees for our projects throughout the year. Please remember that whatever time you are willing to give is all that we ask. Some of our projects include: Science Fair, Reflections, Book Fairs, Fun Fair, Children's Christmas Shoppe, Flouride, Yearbook, Awards Day and Field Day. And there is plenty more. We also sponsor Market Day, which seems to be a big hit. Market Day is a program that allows you to purchase restaurant quality food items each month at reduced prices. If anybody is interested in ordering from Market Day, please stop in the school office for an order form. Please keep in mind, you don’t have to have a child in Walkerton Elementary. You can be a grandma, grandpa, aunt, uncle, friend or neighbor. Our PTA is very active and enjoyable. And we hope that you consider becoming a member of our organization. If you wish to become a member of PTA or should you have any questions, please feel free to contact PTA by calling the school

and we’ll get back with you. Remember, our children come first! Thank you, Angie Glenson WES PTA “Library Talk” 1 just read Orchids & Diamonds by R. Laker. Its a very good historical romance, dating back in the early 1800 s. The hot weather is a good time to sit down with a good book. The library keeps up on all the good authors, fiction and nonfiction. 1 love to read, mystery is my favorite, some of the good authors are Robert Ludlum, Wilbur Smith (who’s writing generally takes place in Africa), Peter Bench - ly and Robin Cook. Stephen King always has a new book out if you are a fan of his. Danielle Steele, who writes good books, is always on the waiting list. If the library doesn’t have the book you want, ask the librarian and she will do her best to get it for you. The library will soon be moving to the new location, which will have a lot more room and much better parking. More later. M.D. R.E.A.L.
