I Dorene Simpson and Rick Deniie were united in marriage on Saturday, June 3, at 1:00 p.m. •astor Craig Clapper performed Jie double-ring ceremony at Trinity Evangelical Free Church, in South Bend. The musical prelude was provided by Joy Karesh, violin; Cherise DaCuhna, piano and Tom Coe, pianist/vocalist. Sig Hepler provided classical guitar background throughout the ceremony. Steve Dennie provided the piano postlude. A welcome was extended to Friends and family by the groom iust prior to the ceremony. i Curtis Dennie lit the candles; Jonathan and Benjamin Dennie, all hephews of the groom, unrolled the aisle runner. The ushers were Tim Willis and Stacy Ball, friends of the bride and groom an Robert SimpCi, brother of the bride. rhe bride wore a gown of white dal satin made by her mother.

The gown had a sweetheart neckline, long sleeves and a chapel length train. The gown was accented with beaded and sequinned lace appliques. The bride’s headpiece was a small cap made of white satin with bead and sequin accents. The attached veil and blusher had rippled edging. She carried a bouquet of assorted white and purple flowers. The groom wore a white tuxedo, while his groomsmen wore gray. The best man was Stu Dennie, brother of the groom. The groomsmen were Steve Dennie, brother, and Ken Hippensteel, friend of the groom. Ken also sang "Together as One." Sam Simpson, nephew of the bride, was the ringbearer. Diane Simpson, sister of the bride, was maid of honor. She sang "Don’t Let Your Heart Be Hardened." Joy Karesh and Cherise DaCuhna, friends of the bride, were bridesmaids. Shon Simpson, neice of the bride, was
the flower girl. The attendants wore royal purple dresses made by the mother of the bride. The bridesmaids carried long stemmed white roses. The flower girl carried a satin covered basket of assorted white and purple flowers. A prayer of blessing was given by Pastor Don Dennie, father of the groom, just before the introduction of the new couple. A reception was given immediately after the ceremony in the fellowship hall of the church. The hall was decorated in purple and white. Servers included family and friends of the bride and groom. After a honeymoon in Phoenix and Sedona, Arizona, Rick and Dorene now reside in North Liberty. Rick is employed by Indiana University South Bend. Dorene is the music director at OregonDavis Jr./Sr. High School. The bride and groom’s parents are Don and Gloria Dennie of Fort Wayne, and John and Carlene Simpson, of Koontz Lake. CELEBRATES 25TH ANNIVERSARY Donald Daube and Myrna R. Williams were married on August 8, 1970 in the United Methoist Church, in Walkerton, with Rev. Harold Williams officiating. The couple reside northwest of Walkerton. Mr. Daube is a semi-retired farmer and Mrs. Daube is retired from the Walkerton License Branch, which she managed for 22 years. Family and friends entertained them with dinner at the Hayloft Restaurant, Plymouth, on Friday evening, August 4. SENIOR CARD CLUB NEWS Tuesday’s winners in euchre were: first, Morris Searfoss 80; second, Orville Klinedinst 74; third, Marilyn Stull 69; and Ruth Ullery and Vi Masterman tied with 63 for fourth. State tournament winners from the North Liberty Youth Bowling League were: 6th place team even winners; Stephen Snyder, Billy Snyder, Jimmv Aldrich, Jeff Aidrich and Jimmy McEndarfer. 7th place doubles event winners; Billy Snyder and Lester Nusbaum. Singles events winners; 11th place, Lester Nusbaum; 15th place, Billy Snyder; 66th place, Jimmy McEndarfer. Steve Snyder is the coach of the North Liberty Youth Bowling League.
