Couple To Celebrate 50th Anniversary I HU ' -.- ? Mr. and Mrs. John Bowers will be celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary, on Saturday, July 29, at the American Legion Post, in Walkerton, beginning at 1:00 p.m. John and Loraine Kamopp were married on August 2, 1945, in Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin. Their sons, David and Stephen, are hosting the event. The Bowers’ lived in the Walkerton area for many years. Mae owned and operated the Mini Shop, in Walkerton, for many years and John was superintendent of the Purdue Muck Crops Farm. The couple now reside at Lakeland, Florida. The Bowers’ invite all their friends and relatives to the celebration. The couple requests no gifts, please. CELEBRATES 90TH BIRTHDAY A birthday party was held on July 22 for Agnes Seider, at the 1.0.0. F. Lodge Hall, in Walkerton. A surprise for her was a visit by her half-brother whom she hasn’t seen for over eight years. A humorous story of her life and times was read by her daughter. Some sixty family and friends were present to help her celebrate.

A buffet meal along with ice cream and cake was enjoyed by all. Couple Celebrates 40th Anniversary Mr. and Mrs. James H. Davis, of Walkerton, celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary by renewing their vows. The service was performed by Pastor Timothy Davis, nephew of the couple, at the Teegarden Methodist Church. Family and relatives attended. Mr. Davis and Linda Gomik were married on July 23, 1955, in Elkhart Valley Church of the Brethren, in Elkhart. They have three children; two daughters, Robin Ream of Walkerton and Vicki Morris, of Plymouth, and one son, Jim of Walkerton. They also have eight grandchildren. A reception was given by their children. Mr. and Mrs. Davis have lived in Walkerton for 27 years. Mr. Davis retired from Sullair Corp, in 1990 and works part-time delivering for Morris Precision. Federation of Republican Women at its 30th Biennial Convention, held on Friday, June 2, at the Adam’s Mark Hotel, Inianapohs. Her two year term will begin on January 1,1996. Beverly is the niece of Nedra Gyemant, of Walkerton and the daughter of the late Helen Decker, Walkerton. Beverly is a charter member of the Mid-Lake Republican Women’s Club and served as president of the club 1990-93. She is presently serving as vice-president of her club and has been on the bylaws and fundraising committees. She is also a member of the IFRW board of directors. Her other political activities have included delegate to IFRW an NFRW conventions in 1993, viceprecinct committeeman, 1994 tribute honoree from her club and delegate to the Iniana Republican State Convention in 1994.
