coma, as they all need our prayers. Next Sunday evening Brett Eastbum will be speaking at the Church of Christ at 7:00 p.m. Remember, he was bom with no arms or feet, but it’s amazing what he can do. Now he travels all over the country, speaking at churches and schools on drugs and self-improvement. His message is: "You’re handicapped only if you choose to be." His motto is: "Just do it — but do it drug-free." He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Vaughn Eastburn of North Liberty. This is one speaker you can’t afford to miss. Many of you know Arlu Smith, of State Road 4. She is home recovering from heart surgery in Memorial Hospital, but needs our prayers, a call or card. On Sunday morning, June 11, the Pine Creek Church of the Brethren will be having the Sunday morning church service for the campers at Potato Creek State Park at 8:30 at Peppermint Hill. You are welcome. Remember the fish fry on June 10th at the North Liberty United Methodist Church. See Du Wayne Burch for tickets. Congratulations to Cory Ross on winning another SI,OOO scholarship from the South Bend Tribune. Cory has also been named as a delegate to Hoosier Boys State. We wish you well, Cory. Don’t know about you, but I hate shopping in these big stores. I can’t fin can’t find a clerk or no price tag. Remember the good old days when there were clerks behind almost every counter. Not so today. I remember the elevator operators,

no customer pushed the buttons and opened the elevator. This was done by a person who called out the various wares by every floor as the elevator stopped to let someone out or in. I can remember when they were very crowded. I got stuck in one once and I never like to get on one by myself since. Trip To Europe By Mildred Hunter Mildred Hunter recently returned after spending ten days in Europe with members of the Swarovski Crystal Society. They visited a few of the plants where the crystal is made. They stayed in Rothenburg, Germany for two days then on to Prague where they visited Pilsen, the home of some of the bestknown breweries and spent two days sightseeing. From Prague they went to Vienna and they were able to catch a glimpse of the Lipazan horses as they were crossing the street from the stables to the arena. They spent the afternoon touring the Vienna Woods. Traveling to Seefeld and Watlens they drove through the snow capped Alps and saw many beautiful villages up in the mountains. They had a one hour boat ride on the Danbul River and a 45 minute ride on an old steam engine train that took them up into the mountains. In Wattens (the sight of the main factory) they were greeted by a German band and enjoyed a wonderful dinner there after which they visited the sales room and saw all the beautiful crystal that is made there. We received many beautiful gifts throughout our trip. Champagne, brandy, candy, a tote bag, lessons on how to clean our crystal pieces and all cleaning supplies, a beautiful swan pin (the swan is the Swarovski logo) and as this is their 100th anniversary, we were treated royally. From Wattens and Seefeld we went to Munich where we toured the Lenderhof Palace and Oberammergan and were able to visit the theater where the Passion Play is held every ten years. We spent a day at Innsbruch and then left for the Munich airport to start our trip home. It was a one hour flight to Burssels, an eight hour and 45 minute flight to Chicago, then a 2Vi hour United Limo ride to South Bend —a 25 hours long day and glad to be home.
