any time during the summer. “Be a Readasaurus’’ is a program to encourage children to read and use their library. Children ages three through grade three need to read 20 books to finish the program. (Or have books read to them!) After 5, 10, 15 and 20 books they receive prizes — most having to do with dinosaurs! Students in grade 4 through 6 need to read 12 books to finish the pro-
gram. After reading 3,6, 9 and 12 books they will receive prizes. This year one of Walkerton’s newest businesses, Subway, has generously donated their Kid’s Packs to “Be a Readasaurus’’ program. When a child is ready for their first prize they will get their name painted on the window of the library, so everyone in town can see it, and they will get a free Kid’s Pack good for a 4’’ sandwich, cookie and small drink from Subway. For third prizes they will get their very own dinosaur to take home — sorry no live ones, just small plastic toys and a “Be a Readasaurus’* book bag. And finally for those persistent readers that finish the program, an award certificate with a dinosaur mask to color, and an invitation to a special party to be held at the library. Reading is important to a child’s success in school and in life. “Be a Readasaurus’’ can make reading enjoyable for even the most reluctant readers. It keeps children reading throughout the summer so they have not regressed when school starts in fall. This summer reading program’s main purpose is to let children see what great adventures they can have while reading books. Stop in the Library, or call 5862933 for more information on this or other summer programs the Walkerton Library offers.

• Rinse your mouth thoroughly with water • Carry mouthwash or breath mints • Avoid odor-causing foods and beverages. Prime culprits: garlic, onions, fish, milk, eggs, legumes, cabbage, broccoli, Brussels sprouts, coffee and alcohol. If the above don’t check your bad breath you may have gum disease or poor fitting dental work. If it persists, see your doctor for a possible medical cause.
